🇦🇺🤝🇮🇩 Australia supports stronger access to justice for victims of trafficking in persons

Congratulations to Indonesia’s Supreme Court on the launch of new guidelines on restitution for victims of trafficking in persons.

This important new instruction provides guidance for judges right across Indonesia to assess and decide on restitution, ensuring victims can access their rights to remedies and receive fair and proportionate compensation for the harm they have suffered.

By strengthening how #HumanTrafficking cases are adjudicated, these guidelines help ensure victims are heard, respected, and better supported throughout the justice process.

Australia is pleased to work alongside Indonesia through the ASEAN-Australia Counter Trafficking (ASEAN-ACT) program and the Australia–Indonesia Partnership for Justice 3 (AIPJ3) to protect vulnerable communities and improve access to justice for all.

We commend Indonesia on this important progress and remain committed to supporting safer and fairer justice pathways for all.
